Moonlight Street Folk (Set 1) @ Salvage Station 8-9-2018
Moonlight Street Folk is a rapidly developing Asheville-based urban folk movement founded in October of 2016 by string strumming, song-writing duo Haley Swift and Amalia Grannis. Swift’s prowess on the mandolin paired with Amalia’s bold vocals and rhythm guitar offer the perfect back drop for their captivating harmony and electric chemistry. With the help of the moon, the elements, and a few sleepless nights by a fire the duo began pumping out soulful, earnest, reflective original music at surprising rate. In April 2017, they were joined by singer/songwriter/producer Ariel Joseph. Their collective sound was met with such a strong response that Asheville’s most iconic riverside bar adopted them for a summer residency. Locals enjoyed the weekly concert series at The Bywater in summer of 2017. In September of 2-17, MSF expanded to include Nick Marino on percussion and Mr. Charlie on bass guitar. They quickly adapted fuller interpretations of their material and already writing new material as a 5 piece unit. Fans are eagerly following as it all unfolds.
