Driftwood LIVE @ Ambrose West 10-25-2018
Driftwood – When most people think of upstate New York, they either imagine bucolic landscapes or working-class towns. As natives of Binghamton, the members of Driftwood hail from a working town, but play music rooted in the land, leaning alternately into folk, old-time, country, punk, and rock, depending on their personal moods and their songs’ needs.
Hannah Kaminer is a Folk/Americana singer-songwriter based in Asheville, North Carolina. Raised in small towns in western North Carolina, she fuses melodic echoes of Appalachian traditions with wistful, Americana-style songwriting. Her homemade alto voice and sweet melodies are a haunting pairing with hearty lyrics about love, loss, and home.
She is the December 2013 “Crowd Favorite” and Grand Prize Winner of Asheville’s All-Star Brown Bag Singer-Songwriter Competition.
Shortly afterwards, she worked with Echo Mountain’s Julian Dreyer to record her first professional album, “Acre by Acre,” released in March 2015. The album is available on iTunes and CDBaby.
