Gaslight Street set 1 @ Pisgah Brewing Co. 2-10-2017
Soul and blues music will never go out of style. Spawned from these roots, Gaslight Street melds pure Southern rock with charismatic vocals, traipsing the boundaries of blues and funk.
Born in the musical bastion of Charleston, SC, Gaslight Street’s regional presence continues to grow behind their third album release, “Heavy Wind” in October 2013. Featuring the unmistakably soulful lyrics and poignant vocals of Campbell Brown, the follow-up to 2011’s “Idle Speed” strongly stakes the band’s place as worthy inheritors of the Southern soul tradition.
Brown is joined in Gaslight by drummer Stratton Moore who’s solid, funky style gives a seamless and ever-moving rhythm section. Whitt Algar (organ/keys/bass) is equally adept at holding a strong groove and taking off on a staggering solo. On lead guitar is Dan Wright. Wright has added even more versatility to the band with his tasteful country and blues riffs and classic Telecaster tone.
“Gaslight Street have crafted a signature sound that is equal parts honey and moonshine, with Brown the catalyst for the soul-infused swagger.”
