This April 19th Arouna and Biko will take to the stage with members of Rising Appalachia to Celebrate the release of their first album together, Bamanaya Sira. Bamanaya Sira is a Bambara phrase meaning the many pathways and branches of the ancient culture. Performing on Kemele Ngoni, Kora, Balafon, Calabash, Djembe and Talking Drum, this show will bring the melodies and sounds of Burkina Faso together in a unique blend of beats and harmony. Asheville has been a musical home to both Biko and Arouna and is the perfect place to share the fruit of their 4 years performing on the road together.
